Transportation in the Highlands

Loaded jeepneys are common transportation mode in the highlands of Mindanao. This photo was taken in Sibulan, Sta. Cruz. The usual route from Sibulan to Toril, Davao City allows the residents to transport their products from farm to the market while also enabling the people to buy their stuff for daily consumption.

B'laan Woman

The B'laan Tribe of Southern Mindanao is one of the tribal subdivisions in the Philippines with unique cultural attributes. Their woman usually wear colorful dress made up of woven abaca cloth with beaded accessories with numerous tiny bells.

Goodjao

The Badjao Tribe in Sta. Cruz today, after series of immersions and encouragements conducted to them, have started to become independent in eking out a living. They have been into economic enterprise development already like selling food items, sari-sari store and fishing. This photo shows some Badjao men helping their co-fisher folk in docking his fishing boat after hours of fishing session in the seas of the town. And with that, they don't want to be called Badjao anymore but Goodjao.

This photo showcases several trademarks that the city can also offer, delicious tropical fruits like durian and pomelo and of course, one of the most beautiful adopted DavaoeƱa that I've ever photographed
