Here is my share of a photo of a popular Philippine Jeepney. Obviously found only in the Philippines, jeepneys have become part of the culture of Filipinos as one of the major transportation mode all over the country. This was taken last September 5, 2014 in Manolo Fortich highway, Province of Bukidnon.

Ang Panday

Just yesterday (October 15, 2014) I saw this carpenter doing his chore while I took pictures of the on-going construction of a new public market building in Escandor area. One of the few experiments I did using the Nikon D5200, an equipment I temporarily adopted from the LGU's Planning Office.

Bubbly Day

This is another photo pulled out from an old files sometime 2011. It was taken in Barangay Tibolo when I joined a women's day celebration using an Olympus E-500 DSLR camera with a 40-145mm zoom lens. It is always good to see children enjoying their stuff like this one.

Kubotan Hunter

This fisher folk from Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur eagerly shows off his early-morning catch of a big cuttlefish (kubotan) which approximately weighs 3 kilograms. His method being employed is spear fishing and through the years he's been making a living out of it. Cuttlefish is among the many sea creatures with a decreasing population due to inappropriate fishing practices in the past.

Engkwentro Holinay

I remember playing this stuff some three decades ago. Marble playing was one of the many kid recreations especially in the elementary days. Last week I discovered  from these neighbor kids that "holinay" has some new innovations in as far as the mechanics are concerned. They already have now a multiple-hole category, among others. Despite some changes, this game has been part of my childhood days when we still reside in Landing. I always wished that someday, somehow I could be like these kids once in a while as it ill always be a worthy respite of the complicated adult life.

Traditional Match

This photo was taken during the Sinub-badan Festival in Sta. Cruz. Dubbed as the celebration of oneness participated by all tribes of Sta. Cruz, this festival was conducted on September 5-6, 2014. One of the events was the Traditional Fire-Making contest as a culture that had been practiced by the Bagobo-Tagabawa tribe through the years.

No Touch

A good friend Tif here is surrounded by flowers in SODACO Farm, Inawayan, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. Varieties of waling-waling is being cultivated here as an additional attraction of the farm aside from the tropical fruits such as durian, lanzones, rambutan and mangosteen. The waling-waling's flowering season is about to end and is expected to be in full blown again within the next six months or even a year.
