Sungkitero

Collecting mature coconut fruits using this traditional "sungkit" is still a common practice employed by coconut farmers in the rural areas. This one being done in Darong, Sta. Cruz particularly in the Relampagos coco farm just beside Sibulan Riverbak.

Flight for Freedom, Aspiration and Vision

A kid in Padada, Davao del Sur maneuvers his flag kite as a sidelight activity of Kite-Flying Festival culmination day on May 15, 2016 at the Quirino Grounds of Padada. Kite-flying is now on its 5th season and it has been identified as a main tourism activity of the town.

Tuxying the Abaca

A farmer from sitio Colan in Barangay Sibulan, Sta. Cruz is shown here tuxying his newly-harvested abaca trunks. After tuxying, he would then extract the fiber. With the introduction of high-input vegetables in the highlands particularly in Mt. Apo Natural Park, abaca is not anymore given attention by farmers, thereby only very few of them cultivate the supposed valuable and lucrative commodity.

Malalag Ocean Bangus

Laborers in Malalag Bay carries some newly-harvested bangus to the packing shed which is just walking-distance away from the fishing boat.
